You can find my very first #MacysMustReads here where I shared my favorite books from this past summer. Today I am sharing my favorites from this fall, along with a quick synopsis and rating. Here are my faves from this fall:

  • The Gifted School - Bruce Hollinger

    • With the college admissions scandal heating up, this book was the perfect segue. Four moms met in a small town years ago and vowed to support one another and raise their children together, that is, until the new, gifted school opened and privilege, achievement, and competition threaten to unravel everything.

      8.5/10 stars

  • American Royals - Katharine McGee

    • This novel is based in an alternate world, where George Washington established an American monarchy instead of a democracy. It discusses the family ties, duties, and responsibilities of the royal family, but is set in present day America. I was disappointed because of how quickly the book ended, but then I realized a sequel was coming this fall to continue the story!

      7/10 stars

  • All the Light We Cannot See - Anthony Doerr

    • Historical fiction has been my jam lately! Set in WWII, this story follows a young girl from Paris, who is blind, and a young boy from Germany, who is orphaned. The very unlikely way in which their paths cross is a story for the ages and a definite must-read for your fall list!

      8.5/10 stars

  • Scoot Over and Make Some Room - Heather Avis

    • I read Heather’s debut book this summer and LOVED it! In this story, she challenges all of us - whether we are a parent of a child with special needs or not - to scoot over and make some room for those who need us. I have no doubt this will be one I re-read often!

      9/10 stars
